Awana is a ministry focused on providing Bible-based discipleship materials for kids ages 4 through 12th grade. The goal of Awana is to reach boys and girls with the Gospel of Christ and train them to serve Him.

Registration for the 2022-2023 Awana year is now open. The DEADLINE to register is Sunday, August 28, but we may close registration and move to a WAITLIST* earlier if we reach our maximum number for each club. So register early if you want to lock in your spot for this fall.

(*NOTE: if you are on the waitlist and have not paid the dues, it does not guarantee that your child will participate in Awana this year.)

There will be a parent/volunteer orientation on September 11, so be on the lookout for an email about that meeting. The first Club meeting will start on September 18 at 4:30 p.m.

Here is the year-long Awana calendar so you can plan the rest of the year accordingly. Please pay attention to the highlighted items (i.e. Fridays and Saturdays) so you don’t miss, or are late to, events or show up to an empty parking lot when we DO NOT meet.

In order to raise the next Generation to know Christ and make Him known, we need your help. Please prayerfully consider volunteering to partner with us in raising a generation that knows Christ and makes Him known. Whether it’s your first time or you are returning for another year of ministry, it will be a great investment of your time and energy in storing up treasures in heaven “where neither moth nor rust destroys and where thieves do not break in and steal” (Matthew 6:20-21 ESV).

Awana meets Sunday afternoons from 4:30-6:00pm.

RBC offers five clubs:
  1. Cubbies – 4-year-old preschoolers (3-year-olds who are two years from entering kindergarten may also participate when a parent volunteers with the AWANA program)
  2. Sparks – Kindergarten through 2nd graders
  3. T&T –  3rd through 6th graders.
  4. Trek – 7th and 8th graders
  5. Journey – 9th through 12th graders.

CUBBIES

The Awana club for preschoolers is built on two premises:
• Young children can and should receive spiritual training.
• Home is the primary place for spiritual training.

Our preschool program meets these needs through … FUN! … and lots of it!

Awana is fun with a purpose—to reach and train kids for Jesus Christ. Games, puppets, crafts, awards and other activities transform our preschool program into a lively weekly experience where fun and learning go hand in hand. Open to 3-year olds whose parent volunteers with the Awana program and all 4-year-olds.

SPARKS

Fun Learning = Results

Sparks club meetings combine learning with fun to create an atmosphere of irresistible excitement for churched and unchurched kids alike. Club meetings are divided into three segments:
• Bible teaching, worship, award presentations and the gospel message
• Small group interaction and completion of Bible-based lessons
• Age-appropriate games on the Awana game circle

Along the way, Sparky, the friendly firefly, and his three friends have many exciting adventures. Sparky encourages kids to learn verses and complete assignments throughout the three handbooks.

Please email us at AwanaSparks@restonbible.org to see if there is available space to register your child for Awana for the remainder of the year.

If you have any questions about the Sparks program or have problems with the registration, please contact our Sparks director: AwanaSparks@restonbible.org.

T&T

The mission of the T&T Club is to answer questions about God and the Bible, guiding 3rd to 6th graders through this pivotal life stage to grow in the grace of the Lord Jesus Christ. This is achieved through a Biblically based curriculum that focuses on living out faith through a life of grace.

The T&T (Truth & Training) curriculum teaches kids the truth of God’s Word, trains them to follow Him and practice His grace.

For 2023/24, we will be studying “Discovery of Grace” to explore the meaning of God’s grace and how it affects their lives. Topics include:

  • Attributes of God
  • Why God gave us the Bible
  • The events of Jesus’ death and resurrection
  • The result of God’s grace in our lives as seen through the fruit of the Spirit

Please email us at AwanaTnT@restonbible.org to see if there is available space to register your child for Awana for the remainder of the year.

If you have any questions about the T&T program or have problems with the registration, please contact our T&T director: AwanaTnT@restonbible.org.

Trek & Journey

Trek is a 2-year program for rising 7th – 8th grade Middle School students. This program challenges students to wrestle with the three most important questions they’re asking in middle school. By allowing students to dive deep into the Scriptures and answer these questions for themselves we allow them to own their faith and discover what they believe.

His Story:  This study helps middle school students understand God’s story and answers the question, “Who am I?”

His Love: This study focuses on Jesus and His ministry, as told through the Gospel of Luke and answers the question, “Why am I here?”

His People: This study focuses on biblical community as told through the book of Acts and answers the question, “Who’s with me?”

Journey establishes high school students as lifelong disciples through a deep study of God’s Word, mobilizing them to live with godly perspective and evident faith. Four complete years’ worth of material supports your 9th-12th grade high school ministry.

Please email us at AwanaTrek@restonbible.org to see if there is available space to register your child for Awana for the remainder of the year.

If you have any questions about the Trek or Journey program, please contact our director: AwanaTrek@restonbible.org.
