Gifts may be given by cash or check in the offering boxes located at the back of the sanctuary or near the Welcome Desk in the lobby.

If you mail your gift (45650 Oakbrook Ct., Dulles, VA 20166), it will be credited on the date of the postmark.

Does my company offer matching gifts?

This is a smart way to give! Stocks and mutual funds held for over one year may be given to the church with the giver generally qualifying for a charitable deduction based on the market value of the stock as of the date of the gift. No capital gains tax is owed on the transaction. If you would like to donate securities, contact your broker and request that they be transferred to E*TRADE (DTC: 0385, Account #: 5721-0317). In addition, please let our Administrator (Dale Peak – know by letter or email when you make the transfer so that we know to whom we should credit the donation. We also need to know if the donation is designated for the General Fund, Next Generation Project, or for another ministry fund.

If you have a used car that’s in good condition that you’ve been thinking of trading in or selling, why not donate it to RBC instead? In many cases, you are able to claim the fair market value as a charitable gift. Our deacons are aware of several families that would be blessed by a reliable car. Please email for more information. started a program called AmazonSmile where they will donate 0.5% of your purchases to an eligible charity of your choice. RBC is registered as an eligible charity and you may designate Reston Bible Church to receive a 0.5% donation of each Amazon purchase you make. To begin, go to and follow the instructions. (NOTE: In order for RBC to receive the donation, you must use rather than to make purchases. Please also note that you will not receive a tax receipt for donations made via this program, as all donations are made by the AmazonSmile Foundation.)

The Charitable IRA Rollover, or Qualified Charitable Distribution, is a tax-favored giving option that allows individuals age 70½ and older to make direct transfers of up to $100,000 per year from individual retirement accounts to qualified charities (such as RBC) without having to count the transfers as income for federal tax purposes. Since no tax is incurred on the withdrawal, gifts do not qualify for an income tax charitable deduction, but are eligible to be counted toward an individual’s required minimum distribution (RMD). This is in addition to your itemized or standard deductions! There are specific procedures that must be followed so consult your financial/tax adviser for details. There are also many articles on the Internet that will help you.

Your donation is tax deductible to the extent allowed by law. Every effort will be made to honor your donation preference, however, please understand that Reston Bible Church retains complete discretion and control over the use of donated funds as required by the IRS.


Contribution statements for every year since 2010 are available in your myRBC profile. Your giving statement will not be mailed to you unless you specifically ask us to do so. To print your statement, simply follow these steps:

  • Log into myRBC
  • Click on the “$/Give” button on the left
  • Click on “Schedules/History” at the top
  • Click on “Giving Statement” (upper right corner)
  • Make sure “Type” is set to “Family”
  • Set the “Quick Date Range” to “Last Year” (or another year of your choice) and then click “Run Report”
