Reston Bible Church exists “to know Christ and make Him known” in Northern Virginia and around the world. Your faithful giving plays an integral part in fulfilling that mission.
GIVE BY CASH OR CHECK
If you mail your gift (45650 Oakbrook Ct., Dulles, VA 20166), it will be credited on the date of the postmark.
OTHER WAYS TO GIVE
Many area employers, including government offices, will match your gift to RBC. Over a recent three-year period, one organization alone has given over $59,000 directly to RBC to support our ministry! To find out if your company has a matching gift policy, click the button below.Does my company offer matching gifts?
This is a smart way to give! Stocks and mutual funds held for over one year may be given to the church with the giver generally qualifying for a charitable deduction based on the market value of the stock as of the date of the gift. No capital gains tax is owed on the transaction. If you would like to donate securities, contact your broker and request that they be transferred to E*TRADE (DTC: 0385, Account #: 5721-0317). In addition, please let our Administrator (Dale Peak – firstname.lastname@example.org) know by letter or email when you make the transfer so that we know to whom we should credit the donation. We also need to know if the donation is designated for the General Fund, Next Generation Project, or for another ministry fund.
If you have a used car that’s in good condition that you’ve been thinking of trading in or selling, why not donate it to RBC instead? In many cases, you are able to claim the fair market value as a charitable gift. Our deacons are aware of several families that would be blessed by a reliable car. Please email email@example.com for more information.
Amazon.com started a program called AmazonSmile where they will donate 0.5% of your purchases to an eligible charity of your choice. RBC is registered as an eligible charity and you may designate Reston Bible Church to receive a 0.5% donation of each Amazon purchase you make. To begin, go to smile.amazon.com and follow the instructions. (NOTE: In order for RBC to receive the donation, you must use smile.amazon.com rather than www.amazon.com to make purchases. Please also note that you will not receive a tax receipt for donations made via this program, as all donations are made by the AmazonSmile Foundation.)
If you desire, you can give specifically to various ministry funds at Reston Bible Church. You’ll find these listed in a drop-down box on the online giving page. Ministry funds include:
General Fund: The great majority of our ministries are supported by donations to the General Fund. Our children, family, youth, preaching, worship, global missions ministries as well as general operating expenses are all supported primarily by the General Fund.
Global Missions Fund:The Global Missions Budget for fiscal year 2015 is $1.638M. It consists of a $1.498M contribution from the General fund and anticipated revenues of $140,000 from donations that are designated for Global Missions.
Community Outreach Fund: Giving to this fund goes entirely to the care of individuals and families in our community who are dealing with financial challenges, but do not necessarily attend RBC. This Fund also supports the Food Pantry and our Adopt-a-School partnership with Guilford Elementary School. Community Outreach is donor sustained.
Benevolent Fund: This money is for the care of individuals, widows and families within our church who are experiencing financial challenges. The Deacons oversee the administration of this fund. The Benevolent Fund is also donor sustained.
Next Generation Project: All funds given to the Next Generation Project are used to pay down our mortgage.
Other Funds: We will at times create short term funds for needs such as: retreat scholarships, missions trips etc. Giving to these funds goes directly to those specific needs.
Your donation is tax deductible to the extent allowed by law. Every effort will be made to honor your donation preference, however, please understand that Reston Bible Church retains complete discretion and control over the use of donated funds as required by the IRS.
