Family Quest Devotional Resources

As the primary discipler in your family, we are happy to share these resources and encourage you to take some time each week to discuss, reinforce, and grow together as a family using what we are learning in Quest!

We are currently in a multi-year study of the Bible and God’s redemptive plan for His people using The Biggest Story by Kevin DeYoung. As biblical literacy rates decline, our primary goal is to teach the Bible, kindle children’s love for God’s Word, and grow them by challenging them with deep theological truths in a way that is engaging for every child.

Each week we will study a Bible story and explore God’s truth communicated through it.

Please send your child with their Bible to class! We have extras for those who don’t have one or forget, but we believe it is important for children to be familiar with the Bible they use at home.

The Biggest Story

Your child will go home with a handout each week with the Big Idea, Memory Verse, and more. You’ll also receive an email each week with a link to the week’s story, a video you can watch together, memory verses, and discussion questions.

You can access the videos anytime here.

There are some additional optional resources you can purchase or find as well. We carry some of these resources in our bookstore and/or library, or you can find them through various online retailers.

  • The Biggest Story Bible Storybook: a storybook Bible which is the basis for this curriculum.
  • The Biggest Story Family Devotional. We highly recommend this book for all ages that accompanies our class lessons. You’ll dig deeper into the passage as a family over the course of the week. It’s perfect for your family worship!
  • The Biggest Story Verse Cards. These are a great way to memorize God’s Word! Display the cards in your home or slip them into your child’s lunchbox.
  • The Biggest Story Bible: a full text ESV Bible
  • The Biggest Story Family Bible Program: 104 Audio Stories and Lessons for Kids: audio program for the whole family that re-tells the story and reinforces the lesson.
  • The Biggest Story Easter and Advent Books: special books for the holiday times. A great gift!
  • The Biggest Story Scripture Journals. If your child is interested in learning to journal through the Bible, these are a great way to begin. These are currently being released, with Genesis out and more coming soon! It includes prompts and questions on a page opposite the full text.

New City Catechism

As we explore the Gospel story woven throughout the Bible, ultimately pointing to our need for a Savior and our fulfillment in Christ Jesus, we also want children to be exposed to challenging biblical concepts and theology. While they may not always understand it, giving them the foundational exposure will aid them in building on the knowledge as they grow in their faith. So we are excited to incorporate TRUTH QUEST:

Questions and Answers from the New City Catechism for Kids into our weekly Quest service!

In the Clubhouse each week, we will go over a new question and answer, as well as review some previously learned ones. We’ll be sending these out each week along with a discussion question and encourage your whole family to learn these together!

You can purchase The New City Catechism for Kids booklet (as well as a family devotional) online, however you can also access all the questions for free. Download the app or browse the questions here.

Make sure you select Children’s Mode, which is the simplified version we’ll be learning

together. If you would like to go deeper, you will also find Bible links, songs, and devotionals included.
