Guilford: Christmas for Families in Need

As part of our ongoing partnership with Guilford Elementary, on December 11th, RBC is helping Guilford host an event for families in need. They are families who are struggling this holiday season, some of which are “McKinney-Vento”, experiencing homelessness living in shelters, motels, cars, or sharing housing due to economic hardship or loss of housing. We are collecting gift cards ($5 to any local grocery or restaurant), toys, winter gear, kids’ fidgets, travel size toiletry items, activity books, and small gift items for parents. We are looking for simple items that any family or shepherd group can donate. Here is a signup list with ideas and links to items at Amazon should you wish to order online and have it sent directly to RBC. We also need volunteers to help care for the smaller children ages 3-7 in the gym, while the older kids and parents meet in the cafeteria for part of the event. Teens are welcome to help and RBC background checks are required for adults. If you have any questions or would like to volunteer to help, please email Leigh Ann Kiendl.
