DISCUSSION QUESTIONS FOR SHEPHERD GROUPS

1. What stood out to you most in the message from Todd Ahrend?
2. Discuss that notion that the Great Commission isn’t really a new mission at all, but a restatement of the commission given to Abraham in Genesis 12. Read Genesis 12 to refresh your memory of the commission to Abraham.
3. Read the following passages of Scripture out loud. Discuss the context of each passage. Who are the writer and the readers?
   • Jeremiah 16:19-21
   • Habakkuk 2:14
   • Zephaniah 2:11
   • Malachi 1:11
   • Acts 3:25
   • Hebrews 6:13-15
   • Galatians 3:8, 14
   • Revelation 5:9.
4. Dr. Ahrend stated that he knew the Lord for 10 years before he realized that the theme “God blesses His people to bless the nations” runs throughout the entire Bible. Discuss your level of awareness of this truth? How did this message provide new insight for you?
