Winter Retreat is a great opportunity to get away from all the pressures in Northern Virginia to hear from the Lord, and grow closer to Him.

ABOUT THE SPEAKER

David Wright is the Pastor of Fellowship Groups at Reston Bible Church. David is passionate about shepherding God’s people through preaching the Word and making disciples. He has been married to the love of his life, Abby, for the past seven years, and they have three girls, Olivia, Claire, and Audrey. When David is not pastoring or parenting, he loves reading a good book, going on a run, or watching the New England Patriots.

RETREAT LOCATION: REFRESHING MOUNTAIN RETREAT AND ADVENTURE CENTER

We will travel to Refreshing Mountain, located approximately 20 miles north of Lancaster, Pennsylvania. It was founded in 1983 by Marlin and Sharon Harnish as a place where families could be refreshed. The Harnish family still operates the retreat center. The emergency contact number is 717-738-1490.

Activity Day: There is one day that students and leaders choose to do an activity. Students who choose the indoor activity will go roller skating. Outdoor Activity consists of snowboarding or skiing at Ski Roundtop.

Due to the Super Bowl landing on President’s Day weekend, we have decided to host a Super Bowl watch party during the retreat. Nobody will be forced to watch the game and we will not be showing the halftime show. This decision shifts our typical schedule such that our Indoor/Outdoor Activities will take place Monday rather than Sunday.

Bring: Winter clothes, sleeping bag, pillow, towel, toiletries, shower shoes, Bible, pen, flashlight, and a great attitude!

Do Not Bring: Anything that could endanger anyone or could be lost, stolen, or broken. Do not bring any electronics (including cell phones), cigarettes, drugs, knives, or prank supplies. If a student brings any of these things, we will take and hold the items until we return from camp. Parents will be asked to come into RBC to pick them up.

Schedule: Students need to arrive at Reston Bible Church by 2:00 p.m. on Friday, February 12, so that luggage and all students and leaders can be loaded and leave by 2:30 p.m. Everyone will return to Reston Bible Church on Monday, February 15, between 5:00- 5:30PM. You will receive an email on Monday when we depart with a more accurate ETA.
