SUMMARY:Youth Winter Retreat
DESCRIPTION:Winter Retreat is a great opportunity to get away from all the pressures in Northern Virginia to hear from the Lord\, and grow closer to Him.\nBesides hearing from God\, we strongly believe students need to be together with other brothers and sisters in Christ. \nWAITLIST REGISTRATION AND COST\nWe are currently on a waitlist for Winter Retreat registration. Please register below\, and you will be notified via email if you are invited to come off the waitlist. The final day to be added to the waitlist is January 28. \nRegistration looks different this year! Pay close attention – there are TWO forms. Please complete the following steps to ensure your student is fully registered. \n\nInitial registration – You will select your registration type and activity and pay for those selections in this first step. You may register and pay for multiple children here. You will also enter your insurance information at this step.\nFollow-up form – Next\, you will receive a confirmation email which will direct you to a second form to enter your child’s medical information\, rooming preference\, waivers acknowledgement\, etc. This form is required and you must fill out the form for EACH child you are registering.\n\nYour registration is not considered complete until BOTH forms have been submitted. \nThe cost of this year’s retreat is $300 plus the cost of the activity. \nJoin the Waitlist\nABOUT THE SPEAKER\nJoe Slack is a former youth director who has worked with youth and families for over 20 years. He is passionate about sharing the love and Word of Jesus with young people\, encouraging and challenging them to grow in their faith\, and developing their leadership skills. Joe serves as the director of a student leadership conference\, YXL Northeast\, and is a regular guest panelist on a morning Christian television show. He is a father of 5 daughters and a huge fan of all things Clemson Tigers. If he isn’t cheering on the Tigers or supporting his daughter’s at their various activities\, you’ll find him playing games or doing puzzles. Have a good joke? Share it with Joe\, he loves a good laugh! \nRETREAT LOCATION: REFRESHING MOUNTAIN RETREAT AND ADVENTURE CENTER\nWe will travel to Refreshing Mountain\, located approximately 20 miles north of Lancaster\, Pennsylvania. It was founded in 1983 by Marlin and Sharon Harnish as a place where families could be refreshed. The Harnish family still operates the retreat center. The emergency contact number is 717-738-1490. \nMORE INFO\nActivity Day: There is one day that students and leaders choose to do an activity. Indoor Activity consists of bowling and roller blading. Outdoor Activity consists of snowboarding or skiing at Ski Roundtop. \nBring: Winter clothes\, sleeping bag\, pillow\, towel\, toiletries\, shower shoes\, Bible\, pen\, flashlight\, and a great attitude! \nDo Not Bring: Anything that could endanger anyone or could be lost\, stolen\, or broken. Do not bring any electronics (including cell phones)\, cigarettes\, drugs\, knives\, or prank supplies. If a student brings any of these things\, we will take and hold the items until we return from camp. Parents will be asked to come into RBC to pick them up. \nSchedule: Students need to arrive at Reston Bible Church by 2:00 p.m. on Friday\, February 13\, so that luggage and all students and leaders can be loaded and leave by 2:30 p.m. Everyone will return to Reston Bible Church on Monday\, February 16\, between 4:00 and 4:30 pm.
