SUMMARY:Youth Winter Retreat
DESCRIPTION:Winter Retreat is a great opportunity to get away from all the pressures in Northern Virginia to hear from the Lord\, and grow closer to Him.\nBesides hearing from God\, we strongly believe students need to be together with other brothers and sisters in Christ. \nWinter Retreat registration is open! The price of the retreat is $225 plus the cost of the activity. Register now to take advantage of this discount and to secure your spot. After December 15 the price increases to $275\, after January 15 the price increases to $315. Winter Retreat is a popular event and will sell out! \nRegister here\nABOUT THE SPEAKER\nDavid Wright is the Pastor of Fellowship Groups at Reston Bible Church. David is passionate about shepherding God’s people through preaching the Word and making disciples. He has been married to the love of his life\, Abby\, for the past seven years\, and they have three girls\, Olivia\, Claire\, and Audrey. When David is not pastoring or parenting\, he loves reading a good book\, going on a run\, or watching the New England Patriots. \nRETREAT LOCATION: REFRESHING MOUNTAIN RETREAT AND ADVENTURE CENTER\nWe will travel to Refreshing Mountain\, located approximately 20 miles north of Lancaster\, Pennsylvania. It was founded in 1983 by Marlin and Sharon Harnish as a place where families could be refreshed. The Harnish family still operates the retreat center. The emergency contact number is 717-738-1490. \nMORE INFO\nActivity Day: There is one day that students and leaders choose to do an activity. Students who choose the Indoor Activity will go roller skating. Students who choose the Outdoor Activity will go snowboarding/skiing at Ski Roundtop. \nDue to the Super Bowl landing on Winter Retreat/President’s Day weekend\, we have decided to host a Super Bowl watch party during the retreat. No one will be forced to watch the game\, and we will not show the halftime show. This decision shifts our typical schedule such that our Indoor/Outdoor Activities will take place Monday rather than Sunday. Outdoor participants’ time spent at Ski Roundtop will be the same as previous years (arrive about 9:00 a.m.\, off the slopes about 3:00 p.m.)\, and everyone (indoor and outdoor participants) will return to RBC at approximately 5:00-5:30 p.m. on Monday. \nBring: Winter clothes\, sleeping bag\, pillow\, towel\, toiletries\, shower shoes\, Bible\, pen\, flashlight\, and a great attitude! \nDo Not Bring: Anything that could endanger anyone or could be lost\, stolen\, or broken. Do not bring any electronics (including cell phones)\, cigarettes\, drugs\, knives\, or prank supplies. If a student brings any of these things\, we will take and hold the items until we return from camp. Parents will be asked to come into RBC to pick them up. \nSchedule: Students need to arrive at Reston Bible Church by 2:00 p.m. on Friday\, February 12\, so that luggage and all students and leaders can be loaded and leave by 2:30 p.m. Everyone will return to Reston Bible Church on Monday\, February 15\, between 5:00- 5:30PM. You will receive an email on Monday when we depart with a more accurate ETA. \nContact youth@restonbible.org if you have any questions.
