Good Samaritan Advocates at RBC provides free legal help to those in our local community who cannot afford to consult with a lawyer. We need volunteers willing to join the team!

We need the following volunteer positions:

Legal Aid Admins: We need a small team of volunteers willing to help with the preparation and administration of the Saturday morning legal clinic (1 or 2 volunteers per clinic, can alternate months). Perfect volunteer position for someone with strong organizational skills. Good opportunity for couples or friends to serve together!

Commitment: One Saturday morning every other month.
Hours: 8:30 a.m. to 1:00 p.m.
Tasks include:
1. Prepare client files for the legal aid attorneys.
2. Set up the rooms with legal pads, pens, printer, and tissues. Clean up afterwards.
3. Greet clients when they come.
4. Make copies and/or scan documents into our secure, online system.
5. Keep paper files and forms neat, organized, and secure.


Pro Bono Attorneys: Provide basic legal advice and basic follow up to low-income clients during pre-screened legal aid appointments. VA-license preferred, but attorneys of any jurisdiction can volunteer. Great opportunity to use legal skills to serve the poor and glorify Jesus Christ! Training, mentoring, and legal resources are provided. Pro bono attorneys serve under the guidance of the Good Samaritan Advocates at RBC Legal Clinic Directors and the Good Samaritan Advocates Executive Director. Pro bono attorneys serve in teams of 2 or 3.

Commitment: At least one legal clinic per quarter with some preparation and follow up.


Interpreters, Spanish: Provide translation between Spanish-speaking clients and attorneys during legal aid appointments. Translate client forms to Spanish and help with follow up correspondence to Spanish speaking clients.

Commitment: To be available the third Saturday of each month between the hours of 9:00 a.m. and 12:30 p.m.


Volunteer Paralegals: Willing to provide assistance to pro bono attorneys through the Good Samaritan Advocates at RBC legal aid program. Tasks include basic legal research and client follow up, which may include phone calls, correspondence, or legal research.

Commitment: At least one legal clinic per quarter with limited preparation and follow up.


Hospitality Volunteer: We need a small group of volunteers to greet clients, escort clients to their assigned meeting rooms, set up client rooms and meeting rooms with refreshments, and assist attorneys with needs that may come up during client appointments.
