The King Conquers Death
The fact that Jesus’ body was missing, the martyrdom of the disciples, and the changed lives of people throughout the centuries all provide powerful evidence that He truly is risen indeed.
DISCUSSION QUESTIONS FOR SHEPHERD GROUPS
- Discuss the notion of the uniqueness of the Christian worldview that human beings are exceedingly valuable but horribly broken. How does this compare to other worldviews from your perspective?
- Do you agree that the resurrection is a critical lynch pin in the Christian worldview? How does it compare in importance to the other non-negotiables of the faith?
- Which of the three supports for the resurrection (the empty tomb, the martyrdom of the disciples, changed life stories) do you believe is most compelling for you and for our day and time?
- Are there other arguments for the resurrection that you find compelling?
- What elements of Liz’s story did you find most encouraging?
- Discuss the four elements of the gospel as it was shared: The problem of sin, the penalty for the problem, the solution to the problem, and the need to embrace God’s solution. Do you find this to be a helpful set of steps to use? What would you do differently in sharing the gospel message?
