DISCUSSION QUESTIONS FOR SHEPHERD GROUPS

1. Share a time in your life when you questioned whether or not God cares about you. What happened? Has your perspective changed?
2. Read and discuss Mark 4:35-41. What do these verses tell you about the nature and character of man? What do they tell you about the nature and character of Jesus?
3. These verses indicate that the disiples were more afraid after Jesus saved them from the storm (Mark 4:41). Why? What is the significance of this?
4. Read and discuss Exodus 2:1-9. How do you see the hand of God at work in the early years of Moses' life?
5. Do you have a hard time believing that God is as concerned about the details of your life as He was about Moses'? Why or why not?
6. Read and discuss Psalm 147:3. When you experience the "storms of life," do you tend to become broken-hearted or bitter-hearted?
7. What current "storm(s)" you are dealing with? How can your small group encourage you to find "the calm within the storm" through Christ? Spend some time together in prayer about it.
