Cornerstone Chapel

Ministry:

JOIN US SATURDAY, MAY 17, FOR OUR 50th ANNIVERSARY CELEBRATION SERVICE! Read below for more information, but please note that this service is in lieu of Sunday services that weekend! We will not hold regular Sunday morning services on May 18.

We are so looking forward to celebrating the faithfulness of the LORD with you at the 50th Anniversary Jubilee Service this Saturday, May 17th. Whether you are coming from near or far, here are some final reminders and logistics to keep in mind as we gather. Watch the video linked above for details, and read on for additional info below.

Location: Cornerstone Chapel (650 Battlefield Pkwy SE, Leesburg, VA 20175 – click here for a map.)

Parking: The primary parking lots are off the Battlefield Parkway entrance. There is an overflow lot off of Sycolin Rd. Click here for a parking lot diagram.

Start Time: 10:00 a.m. PLEASE COME EARLY to give yourself plenty of time to navigate parking and find your way into the sanctuary. We highly recommend arriving between 9:15-9:40.

Entering the Building: Enter via the main entrance (marked West). As you come into the lobby area, to the right will be café seating and access to the outdoor amphitheater area. To the left will be sanctuary entrances. Down the length of the lobby to the left, you’ll find a photo backdrop for photos after the service. You’ll also find table with Chick-fil-A food tickets for those who pre-ordered lunch.

We encourage you to move quickly to find a seat! There will be lots of time for fellowship after the service in the picnic area. You’ll want to be early for a special countdown video that will start at 9:50 a.m.

Please note that absolutely no food or drink is allowed in their sanctuary. There will be a table at each sanctuary entrance to leave water bottles, etc. We will provide labels and markers to write your name on your item in order to retrieve after the service.

Exiting the Campus: If you are not staying after for the picnic, please exit only via Battlefield Pkwy. If you parked in the overflow lot, you may exit via Sycolin.

Picnic & Fellowship Afterwards: Our service will be followed by a picnic from 12:00-3:00 p.m. on the lawn, rain or shine. In the picnic area, there will be a large tent with tables that accommodates 900 people, and plenty of outdoors space. There will be designated areas in the tent to say hello to Mike and Kay and meet up with other alumni from the 70s and 80s.

Restrooms: Restrooms are available at the picnic area, but we recommend using the inside bathrooms as you depart the main building since there are fewer outside.

Chick-fil-A Preorders: If you pre-ordered Chick-fil-A, there will be tables in the lobby for you to pick up your food tickets. Make sure before you exit the main building, you pick up your food ticket from the tables in the main lobby. Take your tickets to the food pickup area at the fire pit in the picnic area. In case of rain, the food pickup area will be the café indoors. We will have lots of bottled water near the food pickup. If you did not pre-order CfA, lunch is BYO!

Livestream Info: If you are out of town and/or unable to attend, the service will be livestreamed at live.restonbible.org and our YouTube channel. We are planning an encore stream of the service on Sunday starting at 10:00am.

ALUMNI BRUNCH – MAY 18
On Sunday, May 18, we will not hold morning services, but there will be an Alumni & Friends Brunch and Fellowship time from 10am to noon. This will provide additional time for those who traveled for the 50th to connect with other alumni and local friends to enjoy their fellowship.

Please mark your calendar and plan to join us for a very special celebration service on Saturday, May 17, 2025, to commemorate 50 years of God’s faithfulness at Reston Bible Church.

It all began with a simple phone call and a step into the unknown. In the spring of 1974, a businessman contacted Florida Bible College, hoping to attract a graduate to Northern Virginia to plant a Bible-believing church near his family in Reston. Weeks later, newlyweds Mike and Kay Minter left Florida for Reston, and in March of 1975, Reston Bible Church held its very first worship service in the Reston Sheraton Hotel. Who could guess what God would do in the years to come?

Now, as we approach 50 years of knowing Jesus Christ and making Him known, Reston Bible Church stands as a testimony to God’s enduring faithfulness, and we want to celebrate His goodness with you! After five decades of ministry, the Lord has woven thousands of people into the fabric and history of RBC. Whether you attended for a year or for decades, whether you simply showed up on Sundays or you poured your life into the ministries of this church, whether your time with us was sweet, bitter, or somewhere in between, your participation, your service, your giving, your presence and your time with us mattered—and still matters, because it is part of 50 years of kingdom work that God has done and continues to do here at RBC.

I will remember the deeds of the Lord; yes, I will remember Your wonders of old. I will ponder all Your work, and meditate on Your mighty deeds. Your way, O God, is holy. What god is great like our God? You are the God who works wonders; You have made known Your might among the peoples. Psalm 77:11-14
