Hope Is Alive!
Jesus did not and does not meet all of people’s expectations of Him, but His resurrection means that we can expect the promise of forgiveness, the promise of eternal life, the promise of His presence and power in difficulty, and the promise of His return.
DISCUSSION QUESTIONS FOR SHEPHERD GROUPS
- What stood out to you in this message?
- We often speak of Jesus dying on the cross for sins, but it seems that we speak less of the resurrection. Why do you think that might be? What is the importance of the resurrection?
- That our sins are forgiven is a guarantee. What makes it difficult to live in a present experience of forgiveness?
- In the midst of life’s difficulties, discuss the matter of God’s presence, power, and purpose along the way? Are those things you tend to experience, or do they feel allusive? Why can it be difficult to experience these things?
- How do you think believers in Jesus can do a more effective job living in light of the return of Christ?
