God established and gave structure to governing authorities. Jesus affirmed governing authorities, and the apostle Paul leveraged them. We are commanded to submit to governing authorities.

- Review the topics of the 6 weeks we have covered so far. Respond to the notion that we are stewards of culture and are to promote God’s idea for how it should unfold in each area covered.
- Discuss what it means to “remove the gap between the sacred and secular.” How does a believer as an ambassador of Christ do this?
- Discuss the notion that human government is God’s idea and that even pagan governments are part of God’s orchestrated plan. Is this new thinking for you? Explain.
- The process in human culture is always a combination of the sovereignty of God and the choices of men. How has your perspective been impacted by this statement?
- Have you ever felt the need to leverage the authorities in a given situation? How has this sermon modified your perspective on that discussion?
- How do you feel inside when the Bible says to submit to the governing authorities when you have frustrations with those authorities?
