Until the Whole World Hears
The first thing that every missionary needs is knowledge and wisdom of God’s will. We can pray effectively for missionaries by asking God that they would be strengthened by God’s might and not their own, that they would have patience and longsuffering, and that they would wait upon the Lord.
DISCUSSION QUESTIONS FOR SHEPHERD GROUPS
- What stood out to you about today’s message?
- Paul prayed for the Colossians believers. Three elements of the prayer were pointed out today. The first is that the would have knowledge of God’s will. Why is it important for many of our missionaries to clearly discern God’s will? Is there something you are seeking God’s will for at this time in your life?
- The second prayer is that they would have wisdom and understanding. What elements of a missionary’s role require wisdom? As you consider internationals around you—what are the things about which you need additional wisdom?
- The third prayer we talked about in this message was about doing it all in God’s strength. What is something you need God’s strength to navigate at this time?
- Is there an area in international missions that interests you? If you could go somewhere on a mission trip, where would that be?
- Spend some time in prayer for a particular missionary or area of the world.
