DISCUSSION QUESTIONS FOR SHEPHERD GROUPS
- What stood out to you in this message?
- Dr. Tackett said that the root of human fallenness is self-centeredness. He also said it is expanding in our current cultural environment. Do you agree or disagree and why?
- Read 1 Corinthians 1:26-31. Discuss the fact that our world calls us to seek significance but God sees it differently. How does this tension play out in your own life?
- Dr. Tackett spoke about the fact that we all have a script about how life is supposed to play out. Problems occur when our script is “stepped on” by other people and life circumstances. What is something that is on your script that has been stepped on in recent days?
- What part of the story of Naaman do you relate to the most and why?
- In what ways has God failed to “follow your script” and how does that feel to you?
- What do you need to release to the Lord to be able to engage God’s larger script over your own smaller script?
