In 2019-2020, thanks to the generosity of the RBC body, the entire book of Luke was translated into the Nyala language spoken by the Banyala people of Kenya through the Imagine Zero campaign hosted in partnership with The Seed Company.
This fall, we are once again partnering with The Seed Company to fund the translation of the books of John, 1 John and 1 Timothy into Gurbet, a language spoken by the Roma people of Croatia and Serbia.
Imagine Zero is an initiative to end Bible poverty around the world. Of the approximate 7,000 known languages in the world, about 2,200 remain without a single word of Scripture. This represents over 2,000 people groups—over 165 million people—that do not have a single Bible verse in a language they can understand. The Seed Company currently works with over 120 partner organizations and 1,555 local ministries and churches to help bring God’s Word to the Bibleless. By 2025, it is anticipated that for all 2,000 people groups, translation will have begun in some portion of Scripture in their heart language.
Imagine Zero is the call to imagine a world in which there are zero people still waiting for the Word of God.
As a church, we are invited to adopt the translation of the books of John, 1 John and 1 Timothy into the heart language of the Roma people in Croatia and Serbia. For $25 a verse, we are hoping to sponsor all 1,097 verses in these three New Testament books. To participate, you can donate with cash, check, or by donating online. (Be sure to select Imagine Zero – Roma as your giving designation.)
Thank you in advance for providing the truth of the Gospel that brings hope, peace, freedom, and purpose in life through Jesus!
“I do not ask on behalf of these alone, but for those also who believe in Me through their word; that they may all be one; even as You, Father, are in Me and I in You, that they also may be in Us, so that the world may believe that You sent Me.” – Jesus, John 17:20-21
