RBC Ministry Fellows is a full-time, one-year training program for developing future church leaders through engagement with God’s Word and hands-on Kingdom ministry. It is designed for those who have a desire to serve in the body of Christ, but need practical experience to explore and develop their God-given gifts, talents, and abilities.

The Fellows program was developed by the pastors at RBC to provide what would have most prepared and developed us when we entered ministry. Our heart and prayer is that all Fellows:

  • Engage – Engage with God and His Word while serving the local church through hands-on practical ministry.
  • Develop – Develop deeper relationships with God & His church while growing in God-given gifts, talents, and abilities.
  • Go – Go out, launched and equipped, to be a lifelong leader in God’s church around the world.

The application deadline for 2022 is May 1.

Each Fellow will have a primary mentor and ministry focus while also gaining exposure and experience in a broad variety of ministry areas. We want Fellows to connect with our staff team and fully engage in the wide array of local church ministry RBC offers. The Fellows will meet weekly to study God’s Word and pray together, learn practical counseling, discipleship, ministry leadership skills, and receive developmental feedback. Here’s what a typical week will look like as a Ministry Fellow:

Primary Ministry (25-30 hours/week)

The specifics depend on your ministry focus, but our desire is to have Fellows involved in all aspects of ministry including discipling, counseling, teaching, planning, and administration. Practical experience provides the best training opportunities.

Supporting Ministries (5-10 hours/week)

We want Fellows to have a broad exposure to a variety of ministries to help explore their gifts and passions. Fellows will participate in various teaching and serving opportunities around RBC throughout the year.

Training & Development (5-10 hours/week)

Fellows will meet weekly to study God’s Word together, learn from RBC Pastors and Ministry Directors, review messages, pray together, and have fun. We want you to grow in community as you learn and serve.

The weekly Ministry Fellow training and development gatherings will run September through May. Exact Fellow start and end dates will be set by primary ministry mentors, depending on the needs of the candidate and the flow of the ministry season. For example, for Jr. and Sr. High Ministry Fellows, it is desired that they start in time to come to our Youth Summer Camp the last week of July and finish the following Summer Camp.

RBC will provide Fellows at least $1000/month for the duration of the program. For Fellows who are not local, RBC will provide housing through families in our congregation. Medical insurance is not provided. Reliable transportation is required, but Fellows will be reimbursed for ministry mileage. Our desire is to equip and invest in future leaders of God’s church, and final benefits may be adjusted based on an applicant’s specific needs.
