DESCRIPTION:WHAT IS “FIRST FRUITS”?\nFirst Fruits is a service project that has rallied the RBC church body for over 30 years. It is a unique serving opportunity for families\, Shepherd Groups\, and individuals to come together and make a difference in the lives and families in our area who are in need of help and encouragement. Join us and you will be blessed to see the tangible “fruits” of your labors! \nWelcome Park View students! Please look for the Park View Volunteer button below to represent your school at this event. \nThe project mainly consists of two parts: \n\nTeams of youth and adults do work all day for people in Northern Virginia who give toward the project.\nAt the end of the day\, the teams use the money raised to buy groceries and other supplies for people in need within our local community. Each team delivers the groceries and gift cards to the family that evening. Excess funds are used to help others beyond that night. Since 2012 this has included RBC helping more than 80 students realize their dream of going to college by awarding Perseverance Scholarships at five local high schools.\n\n\nHOW CAN YOU BE INVOLVED?\n1. Give us a JOB that we can do for you around your house.\nMany ask us to: rake leaves\, mulch\, garden\, clean\, simple home projects\, or anything you need that we can do! Jobs are for a 2-hour time slot and are taken on a first-come basis until we reach the limit we can accomplish. \nSign up to provide a job\n\n2. VOLUNTEER to be a part of the project.\nWe hope you’ll join us as a volunteer! Please REGISTER and plan to meet us at Park View High School in the gymnasium on Saturday\, November 21\, at 7:45 a.m. Bring a rake and positive spirit! \nSign up to volunteer Park View volunteer \n\n3. Let us know someone who is in NEED.\nIf you know of someone in our community who is in need of food and isn’t currently being cared for on an ongoing basis\, please let us know! \nshare a need\n\nFOR MORE INFORMATION\nClick here to check out our FAQ page. For any questions\, please email youth@restonbible.org.\nEVENT DAY OVERVIEW\n\nAll teams start at Park View HS the morning of November 21\nVolunteers arrive at 7:45 a.m. (Captains at 7:30 a.m.)\nBring gloves\, rake\, money for lunch\, water bottle\nEnd time varies by team\, but is after 7:00 p.m. Captains will make sure student volunteers have arranged rides home.
