Women’s Weekend with Elizabeth Garn – “Experiencing Prayer”
March 25 - March 26
Reston Bible Church
How should we pray? What words should we use? Does it really matter?
Join us March 25 and 26 as Elizabeth Garn examines the Psalms to look at the language of prayer. She will use prayers from the Bible to show that the heart of prayer is about developing a relationship with God. Come and join us for fun and fellowship as we learn to experience prayer!
Prayer can be one of those things that seems like it should be so easy, but when we go to do it, it can feel really hard. What do we say? How do we say it? What words do we even use? Thankfully, God doesn’t leave us hanging.
In the Psalms we have, not just a collection of songs and prayers of God’s people but we also have a primer of the words, the language of prayer itself. We will look at the language of prayer and then look at actual prayers from the Bible to see how other people use these words from the Psalms to fashion and craft their own prayers, just as we have been invited to do. Join us as we find out what it means to experience prayer.
Doors will open Friday night at 6:30 p.m. Dessert will be served, and we will end at 8:30 p.m. Saturday’s activities will begin at 9:00 a.m. with breakfast pastries. Lunch will be provided, and we will dismiss at 2:30 p.m.
Registration is now closed. There will be no childcare at this event.
