OPPORTUNITY TO SERVE: Guilford Elementary
- The 4th grade team at Guilford is looking for a Shepherd Group to make cupcakes for their end of the year picnic, carnival style! They are in need of 5-7 dozen cupcakes of various flavors. If your Shepherd Group would be interested in helping, please email Leigh Ann.
- Do you have any shorts for kids sizes 6, 8, or 10? The clinic at Guilford is in immediate need of these extra clothing items for students. Please email Leigh Ann to arrange pickup or drop your items off at the Guilford table in the lobby.
OPPORTUNITY TO SERVE: Summer Quest Volunteers
Wondering how to minister to our year-long QUEST volunteers? Encourage them to take a summer break! Sign up to serve this summer with QUEST Children’s Ministry! QUEST has many awesome opportunities. Flexible leaders, assistants,and floaters needed for BABYQUEST, preschool/grade school QUEST and Courage QUEST. Welcoming greeters for visitors are also needed. Please email Joan Lastova.

GREAT GAP COOKOUT ON (RAIN OR SHINE) THIS SATURDAY- NEW LOCATION
Never Fear! The Great Gap Cookout will be held rain or shine this Saturday, May 13, BUT, the location is being moved to the RBC Youth Building. The time is still 5:00-9:00 pm, and, for the most part, everything will remain the same but be indoors. So now it is the Great Gap Cook “In”!

BAND OF BROTHERS BREAKFAST: Saturday, May 13 (8:00-9:30 am, CFC)
Join us to hear Derrick Ellison with Fellowship of Christian Athletes. Derrick is a Loudoun County native and has been working with FCA since 2012. He serves as the Multi-Area Director for Northern Virginia and DC FCA. Derrick played over ten years of minor league baseball and was blessed to reach Triple-A with the New York Mets. Derrick’s desire is to impact the lives of Coaches and Athletes in Loudoun County so they too can share their faith in locker rooms, on the field, and on their local campuses. MOM’S CONNECTION: Friday, May 19 (9:30-11:30 am, Youth Building)
Registration for our May 19 Friday Fellowship is now open! This month will be a little different as we take time to share with one another about what God has been doing in our lives over the last year through Mom’s Connection. We’ll also have a chance to share suggestions for summer activities and will have more time to fellowship with one another. Lastly, we have some BIG ANNOUNCEMENTS for you that you don’t want to miss! Registration is open until Monday, May 15 in celebration of Mother’s Day! Childcare is available for children 6 months and up while infants are invited to attend with their mothers. MEN’S SUMMIT: Monday, May 22 (6:30-9:00 pm)
The darkness of human trafficking, preying primarily on our young girls 12-17, unbelievably surrounds us here in our families and communities in Northern Virginia. NOVA is a major hub for this form of modern slavery. Sadly, its most common form – Teen Sex Trafficking. Join us as we hear from Detective Bill Woolf, NOVA Human Trafficking Task Force and Howie Levin, NOVA Human Trafficking Initiative, to see how we as men should be aware of the risk to our daughters and how we can inform others. DAD & KIDS CAMPOUT: June 2-4 (Pohick Bay Regional Park)
Load up your kids and camping gear, and join us for an unforgettable weekend in the woods. It will be a weekend of bonfires, sleeping under the stars, and just plain fun! The adventures are great and small with all the group games, campfire-songs, hot dog and marshmallow roast, and Sunday morning worship. It’s a special opportunity to disconnect from daily distractions, create life-long memories with your kids, and get to know other dads at RBC. The cost is $25 per camper. 8TH GRADE RISE UP SUNDAY: June 4
Current 8th graders – the Class of 2021 – will move up to join the Sr. High youth group on June 4. There is a gathering of all 8th grade students and their parents at 10:15 am that morning at the youth building. Meet in the parking lot for coffee and snacks. At 10:45, students are invited to join the regular Sunday AM GAP service while parents will meet with Bob Shull and the Sr. High staff for an introduction to the Sr. High ministry. Parents are welcome to stay afterwards for AmGAP.
SENIOR HONORS BANQUET: Friday, June 9 (6:30-9:30 pm) Deadline to notify us is May 21.
If you have a graduating senior, you are invited to join us for a Senior Honors Banquet held here at RBC. The dress is semi-formal and the cost is $12.00 per person ($6.00 for children under 12). Your graduate’s meal is free as our honored guest. This is a special evening to honor our graduating seniors as they mark this important milestone in their lives. KIDS CAMP: June 26-30 (9:30 am – 12:15 pm)
Are your kids ready for an adventure? Kids entering 1st grade through 6th grade are invited to join us for a week of games, art, music and superhero action while we explore the identity of our one true Superhero and how we can be a part of the Righteous League. YOUTH SUMMER CAMP: An Investment into your son/daughter’s spiritual health! July 23-29
The annual RBC Youth Summer Camp takes our teens into the Word of God to help them “own their faith” and prepare them to live and take a stand in the world. The theme for this summer is “THE MYSTERY.” Our speaker, Frank Cirone, is the Director of the Ravenscrest Chalet Bible School in CO. To register or to get more details about the camp, click here. BRING US SCIENCE JUNK: Kids Camp 2017
I hope you held back on us last year because we need your junk again this year too! We are looking for items for a secret lab display (think BatCave, here). Items could include:
- Electronic parts
- Traffic lights and street signs
- Lab coats
- Test tubes and beakers
- Science posters
- Science stuff in general that look cool!
