ElderChris was born in Honolulu, Hawaii, the son of two generations of West Point graduates on his father’s side, and a Naval Academy grandfather on his mother’s side. The oldest of four children in a military family, Chris had lived in six states by age thirteen when his family moved permanently to the Maryland suburbs of Washington, DC. It was in high school in Maryland that Chris first met Deedee, who was later to become his beloved bride. He holds a B.A. with Honors in English and History from Oberlin College, and a Masters Degree in Architecture from Harvard University. In spite of growing up within a denominational church, it was not until he heard a clear presentation of the gospel in his early thirties that he finally understood his need for a personal relationship with Jesus Christ as his Lord and Savior. Convicted of that need, he received Christ having heard and finally understood the free gift of salvation by grace through faith in Jesus Christ. Chris and his wife Deedee lead a shepherd group in their home in Ashburn. He has been a member of the relocation group since its inception in 1998, and was privileged to lead the children’s praise and worship ministry for five years before our current Quest ministry. His current elder responsibilities include elder oversight of the children’s ministry and multicultural ministry, as well as acting Secretary to the Elder Counsel. Chris has served on the elder counsel since the spring of 2003. Chris is a Managing Director at LaSalle Investment Management, an international real estate advisory firm, where he heads North American acquisition due diligence. Chris and Deedee live in Ashburn, and have three children, Catherine, Christopher, and Charles. Info

Pastor of Worship & Music, Executive Pastor, ElderEd was born and raised in Leesburg, Virginia. He enjoyed growing in what was then an idyllic small town. Baseball and sports were his primary interests. Ed accepted Christ in 1968 through the ministry of Youth For Christ and immediately began traveling and singing for the Lord in Virginia, Maryland and surrounding states. He graduated from Loudoun County High School in 1970 and from West Chester University in 1976 with a degree in music education. Ed has also taken courses in the Masters program at Reformed Theological Seminary and loves to read, study God’s Word, and teach it to others. In 1972, while a freshman at West Chester, Ed started the group Glad along with some young men from Temple University. God was gracious to allow them to have a recording and concert career that has spanned 33 years, over 1000 concerts and 25 albums. Ed is still doing 10 to 12 concerts per year with Glad. He and his wife Heidi have been married for 22 years and have two boys, Spencer and Mason. Heidi traveled with Glad for 5 years as their sound tech before deciding to stay at home and start a family. As the Pastor of Worship & Music, Ed’s primary responsibilities at RBC are the planning and preparation of our worship services, the selection of music and scripture readings, and the rehearsals and performances of our worship groups. He also helps plan and lead our annual Easter outreach, Conversations, and other special services. Ed enjoys a dual role on the staff of RBC. In addition to worship and music, Ed has recently assumed the role of executive pastor. He occasionally teaches at the weekend services, leads the weekly staff meetings and serves the elders in shepherding the overarching administrative and ministry aspects of Reston Bible Church’s ministry.
