Quest: Kids have questions, He's got answers

Quest is our weekend worship, teaching, and small group ministry for children. This is the entry point for most of the children we minister to each weekend. Through Quest our children will receive a firm theological foundation and Christian worldview, an understanding of redemptive history, and the basics of Christian living and purpose.

Quest is a great place for you to serve! Opportunities are available this fall in two major areas:

1. Quest Trail Guides: Are you willing to invest in the life of a child but you’re not the “teacher type”? Do you like to chat, worship, pray, and play games? There is a home for you in Quest! For our grade school children, Quest is set up in a large group/small group format and teaching is done in the large group and the children then break down into small groups for follow-up discussion and application. “Trail Guides” are the small group leaders who focus on building relationships and discipling the kids.

2. Quest Teachers: So... you are the “teacher type”? There is a home in Quest for you, too! Our preschool children meet with the large group for worship and then return to their classrooms for teaching. That’s where you come in! No previous experience required! Training, curriculum and substitutes provided.

If you are interested in serving in this ministry, stop by the Children’s Ministry Table (downstairs in Herring Hall during weekend services).

There will be a volunteer training meeting on Friday, May 30 at 7:30 in Room 111.

QUESTions? Please contact Eugene Catedral, Children’s Ministry Director.

Vacation Bible School

Jul 14 2008 - 9:00am
Jul 18 2008 - 12:30pm

VBS 2008: Outrigger Island

Vacation Bible School for 2008 will be the week of July 14-18, 9:00am to noon.

Surf's up, so grab your surfboard and head for the waves! During this summer’s VBS, kids will know, speak, and live God's truth - aloha style. Based on Psalm 86:11, Outrigger Island is more than a tropical paradise. It's the place where kids will develop the stability they need to face a world of shifting sands and wavering opinions.

ELIGIBLE CHILDREN

The age range for VBS is from children who are eligible to enter Kindergarten this upcoming fall (born on or before 9/30/03) to children who have completed the 6th grade this school year, 2007-08. The cost is $20 per child. This fee covers all aspects of VBS including the pizza party on Wednesday afternoon and the carnival on Friday evening. Special discount for large families: If you register more than 3 children, you will be refunded all fees paid beyond $60. Scholarships are available for those with financial need. Contact Kim Reynolds for more information.

In order to make the online registration process quick and easy, we recommend you create a profile when asked. By doing so, all your basic information (name, address, phone, etc.) will not have to be entered for each child you register.

VOLUNTEERS AND YOUNG CHILDREN

The more volunteers we have, the more kids can attend VBS to hear the awesome news of Jesus Christ and how to face a world of shifting sand and wavering options! So, if you have children who are too young to attend the formal VBS program, no problem! Just enter their information on your volunteer registration, and we’ll be happy to provide a modified VBS curriculum for them while you’re serving. We hope you’ll join us for a fun and meaningful week!

**UPDATE** VBS now has a waiting list.  You can still sign your child up, but you will hear from Children’s ministry only if there’s room for your child to attend.  We are thankful for the great response to our request for volunteers.  We could still use a few more adult helpers.  If you are interested in helping at VBS, please contact Kim Reynolds at kimreynolds@restonbible.org.
