Vacation Bible School for 2008 will be the week of July 14-18, 9:00am to noon.

Surf's up, so grab your surfboard and head for the waves! During this summer’s VBS, kids will know, speak, and live God's truth - aloha style. Based on Psalm 86:11, Outrigger Island is more than a tropical paradise. It's the place where kids will develop the stability they need to face a world of shifting sands and wavering opinions.

ELIGIBLE CHILDREN

The age range for VBS is from children who are eligible to enter Kindergarten this upcoming fall (born on or before 9/30/03) to children who have completed the 6th grade this school year, 2007-08. The cost is $20 per child. This fee covers all aspects of VBS including the pizza party on Wednesday afternoon and the carnival on Friday evening. Special discount for large families: If you register more than 3 children, you will be refunded all fees paid beyond $60. Scholarships are available for those with financial need. In order to make the online registration process quick and easy, we recommend you create a profile when asked. By doing so, all your basic information (name, address, phone, etc.) will not have to be entered for each child you register.

VOLUNTEERS AND YOUNG CHILDREN

The more volunteers we have, the more kids can attend VBS to hear the awesome news of Jesus Christ and how to face a world of shifting sand and wavering options! So, if you have children who are too young to attend the formal VBS program, no problem! Just enter their information on your volunteer registration, and we’ll be happy to provide a modified VBS curriculum for them while you’re serving. We hope you’ll join us for a fun and meaningful week!

**UPDATE** VBS now has a waiting list. You can still sign your child up, but you will hear from Children’s ministry only if there’s room for your child to attend. We are thankful for the great response to our request for volunteers. We could still use a few more adult helpers. Evening of Worship

Evening of Worship is a monthly gathering that meets in the sanctuary at 7:00pm, one Sunday each month. Simply, it's a time set aside for celebrating God through musical worship and fellowship. EoW is currently in it's fifth year and continues to exist solely because of the desire of the RBC community to meet and experience God in an intimate and engaging way.

Worship leader Erik Palmer leads the EoW band for this 60-75 minute time of musical worship and reflection.

We invite everyone to come join us! (Cry room is available for those with small children.)

Blood Drive

RBC will be sponsoring a blood drive on Sunday, September 14, from 8:30 a.m. to 1:00 p.m.

There is an immediate need in our area for most blood types. Blood must be available when needed for patients whose lives depend on it. Over 200 blood and platelet donations are needed every day, year round by patients at the 15 hospitals served by Inova Blood Donor Services.

Blood and platelets help many people including: trauma patients, surgery patients, newborn babies, cancer patients and transplant patients. Although 60 percent of the population is eligible to donate, less that five percent actually donates. More donors are urgently needed every day, seven days a week, to help save lives.

Second Chance Golf Tournament

LIVE LIFE TO THE FULLEST. Christ and Christ alone is the key to a full life. His unrivaled supremacy in all things ensures for us not the mere hope of freedom, but the promise of freedom. And when we know who we are in Christ, what our purpose is, and we live in our God given purpose - then we are truly ALIVE.

STEAL, KILL AND DESTROY. As with any battle you need to know your enemy’s tactics. Not to focus on them but to take advantage of its weakness. As Christians, we are Satan’s biggest threat. He wants nothing more than to overwhelm us with his lies and destroy our witness that Jesus is our Lord and Savior. The battle has been won for you, Will you live like it has?

ALIVE will be held September 19-21 at the Sandy Cove Conference Center in North East, MD. Join us Friday afternoon for the pre-conference golf tournament then we'll officially kick the retreat off Friday night. We'll hear keynote addresses from John Bishop, Rick Wellock and Bruce Bickle. For the second year, we will be offering breakout sessions led by men like Paul Goodnight, Ray Shoaff, Tony Pedroni, Jason Goetz, John Smith and Brad Hummel on relevant topics such as Balance, Significance, Spiritual Leadership, Finding your Sweet Spot and more.
