The Lay Counselor Institute is holding its Level 1 training at RBC on April 17, 18 and 19 (two evenings and one day).
The Lay Counselor Institute (LCI) assists the church with its lay counseling programs, training, and administration. As described by Paul in II Corinthians, one important element of a gospel-centered ministry is the delivery of comfort and encouragement to people in the midst of suffering and troubles. The church’s unique privilege is its ability to lawfully deliver this ministry without licensure and without charge. Many churches find that this can be done well by certain members of the congregation working under the auspices of the church. LCI provides training for mature Christians, equipping them to do counseling ministry within the local church body.
Level 1 training is an exposure to the ministry of lay counseling in a challenging and relational format. For further information and registration details, go to www.lciministry.org or call 571-490-3030, or 301-661-5276.
