The sticks, while fastened together, could not be broken; only when separated from each other were they easily snapped in two. The world teaches men to be independent, to rely on their own strength and reject the wisdom of others. Most of us have seen or suffered firsthand the crushing consequences of isolation. The theme of weakness and isolation began in the garden and continues through all of us today. The enemy specifically chooses times of isolation where he can manipulate us into not believing what the Lord had already spoken to us. It’s the oldest warfare strategy in the book - divide and conquer. The enemy, Satan, wants us to believe this lie of self-sufficiency and will do whatever he can to promote it. But, God has a different perspective; if a family, community, city, or kingdom, are divided against themselves they cannot stand. But if they are united, they possess a strength far greater than isolated individuals. Through His servant Solomon, the Lord specifically lets us know we are stronger in community with other believers than we are alone: “Though one may be overpowered, two can defend themselves. A cord of three strands is not quickly broken.” (Ecclesiastes 4:12) We invite you to join the men of RBC this fall at our annual Men’s Retreat where we will be challenged to live out the abundant life (John 10:10) in the context of Christ-centered community. This year, we'll hear four addresses from Steve King, Senior Pastor at Cherrydale Baptist Church in Arlington. Pastor King will be speaking on Strength in Numbers. We will study Ecclesiastes 4 and see how relying on Christ-centered community can radically change our walks and thus our personal, family and corporate lives. Like as individual aspects of our walk such as faith, hope, love and the word, we will also see how prayer and evangelism are stronger when utilized in unison. Of course we'll also have the Friday golf tournament, the always memorable Saturday afternoon sports & leisure activities, and plenty of discussion time. We pray you’ll join us for a great weekend in a comfortable and low-key environment, where we can laugh, think, connect and be encouraged in our journey with Christ. CLICK THE BANNER BELOW TO REGISTER ONLINE! Retreat pricing is $235 for a double-occupancy room, $205 for triple-occupancy, and $190 for quad-occupancy.
