The pressure that our preteens and teens face every day to give in to what the world has to say about sex are enormous! Society is constantly bombarding our youth and young adults to believe lies like “sex is just another act of self-expression” and “just use a condom” and “sex is safe.” Messages like these have triggered a new sexual lifestyle many teens and young adults now call “HOOKIN’ UP.” 
 
It is our responsibility as parents to combat the lies from the world with truth from God’s Word! If you attended the recent RE:NEW Conference and heard Josh McDowell teach on this subject, you may have walked away wondering what you should do next. Well, our desire is to equip the parents of our community to empower their kids and teens with the truth for the battle they will face to remain pure. 
 
We would like to invite you to come learn about how modern science supports what God’s Word has told us for over 2,000 years in I Corinthians 6:18 when it exhorts us to “Run from sexual sin! No other sin so clearly affects the body as this one does. For sexual immorality is a sin against your own body.” All parents are encouraged to join us on February 22 from 7:00-9:00 p.m. as we discuss:

• Why there is no such thing as “safe sex”
• God’s truth about sex and His plan for sexuality
• How to talk with your children about this very relevant topic
• Instituting a plan for purity in your home
• Equipping our youth to set their own God-centered sexual boundaries

The workshop is free to attend, but registration is required. We are not able to offer childcare for this event.

SPEAKER BIOGRAPHY

Janine Olkowski, serving as the education director for 1st Choice Women’s Health Center in Lansdowne, Va., will be teaching and leading the discussion. Janine holds a master of arts with a double major of pastoral studies and women’s ministry from Multnomah University and has been teaching God’s word and doing public speaking lectures since 1984. As the education director for 1st Choice Women’s Health Center, Janine has written multiple faith-based educational curriculums and taught hundreds of faith-based educational teaching classes and lectures.
