From the Executive Pastor

Annual Report 07

Dear RBC family,

“The lines have fallen for me in pleasant places…” (Psalm 16:6) It’s been my
pleasure to serve as our executive pastor at Reston Bible Church for the last fifteen
months. All the good things we have seen this year at RBC are because of God’s
grace. We have seen people come to know Christ, follow the Lord in baptism, and
we’ve seen growth in people’s lives through Bible teaching, service, fellowship and
discipleship. We are thankful to God for His grace in each of your lives.

This annual report is designed to give you an overview of the ministry this past year
along with our plans and hopes for next year and beyond. It will also serve as a
reference book of sorts that provides ministry contact information for those we serve
and for those who wish to serve with us. It also contains financial information so that
you can see how we handle the money God has entrusted to us.

Since much of our ministry planning aligns itself with the school year, we have
changed our fiscal year from a calendar year to run from September 1 through
August 31. Our annual reports will be delivered in early October.

In January of 2007, the elders met to pray and to set direction for the coming year. It
seemed to us that the greatest need of our congregation was to experience genuine
fellowship that goes beyond what occurs at a weekend service. We decided to hire
a Shepherd Group Pastor and God graciously provided Tony Pedroni to lead the
effort in that ministry. He is off to a fine start.

The elders also took further steps toward relocating the church to the 22 acre
property on Cascades Boulevard. We have sought input from our ministry leaders
and attendees as we have refined our architectural plans. We’ve engaged an
owner’s representative to help us negotiate with contractors, and formed a team
of people made up of some elders, staff and talented volunteers to help lead the
relocation effort.

One of my areas of focus this year is the continuing education of our church staff.
We studied Ken Sande’s book The Peacemaker for 13 weeks along with John
Piper’s The Blazing Center and R.C. Sproul’s Holiness of God. These studies were
chosen to help our staff improve their conflict resolution skills in a biblical way, and
to refresh our hearts with passion for God’s glory.

Our passion at RBC is to help people to know Christ and to make Him known in a
world that is distracted and confused. If there is anything we can do to help you in
your walk with Christ, please allow our pastors and staff the privilege of serving you
for God’s glory.

Ed Nalle
Executive Pastor
