Adult Bible Fellowship

Annual Report 07

Adult Bible Fellowships are small to mid-sized groups that meet to fellowship
around the study of God’s word.

THE BEREANS / The Bereans meet on Sunday mornings during the
second service in an office building approximately 3 to 5 minutes from the
RBC main campus. Directions and additional information are on the web
and on the ministry wall in the foyer. The following describe some important
characteristics of the group and what has occurred during the last year:

Good quality teaching based on Scripture and led by men with a gift for
presenting God’s Word in an interesting and engaging way.
The desire is to
shepherd God’s people through teaching, encouragement and the fostering
of Christian community. The group has an interactive atmosphere in which
questions can be asked freely and difficult topics are addressed in an open
and straightforward manner. Over the past year the Bereans studied the
topic of Church History, tracing the development of the teachings and
practices of Christianity from 70 A.D. to the present. A new study has just
begun of the book of James.
A mix of ages, consisting of couples and singles, gives us opportunity to
see and learn from each other’s life experiences. Everyone is welcome.
The Berean group consists of approximately 100 people who minister
to each other in various ways. On Sunday mornings we typically have
approximately 50-60 people in attendance.
Fellowship enjoyed both within and outside of the group meetings.
Each class period begins with refreshments and informal conversation.
Organized social events are conducted several times a year. We regularly
have what we call Bereans Breaking Bread, where individuals or families
will host six to eight others for a meal or plan an activity. There are also
periodic fellowships in various homes.
Concern for each other expressed as people pray for one another,
encourage one another and serve one another in a number of ways
including providing meals, rides, helping hands, etc.
Opportunities to find and form special relationships which extend well
beyond the time spent together on Sunday mornings. Small groups that
meet regularly have started.

CROWN FINANCIAL MINISTRIES / Crown Financial Ministries is another
Adult Bible Fellowship offered by RBC. Crown uses a remarkably effective
small group study to train people to apply financial principles from the Word
of God to their everyday lives. In the ten-week Crown study, you will learn
what Scripture teaches about this important topic and how to apply it.

PARENTING CLASS / RBC elder Ray Shoaff and his wife Linda lead an
annual twelve-week study (starting in January) on biblical parenting. This class,
filled with fun and fellowship, has changed many families’ approach to raising
children through the discovery and application of biblical parenting principles.
