Youth Ministry (Junior High)

Annual Report 07

Our goal at Counterpart, our Junior High Ministry, is to arm students with
questions and answers that allow them to understand the beliefs of their
friends and classmates and confidently support their own Biblical worldview.
We’ve found that students tend to develop a strong Biblical worldview as
they personally defend it. Instead of running away from their culture, we
want them to bring Jesus into it.

On Sunday mornings from 9:00–10:15 a.m., we have our teaching service,
which is geared specifically for Junior High students – complete with time
in God’s Word, music, games, and much more. From 10:15-10:45 a.m., we
meet in small groups to build community and fellowship. Adults and high
school students help facilitate the small group time while being equipped
with questions that provide students opportunities for discussion and
application.

Each Friday night from 7:30-9:30 p.m., we have Friday Night Live, a themed
gathering specifically designed to provide outreach opportunities for our
students. We focus on issues that teenagers face and we emphasize
how God works in our lives - pointing each message to the gospel. For
Counterpart, it’s about lives that have been changed by the power of the
gospel of Jesus Christ.

Parents are a radically important part of our ministry. We want to come
alongside parents with seminars and gatherings that can help parents be
better equipped as they raise up their teenage student. Parents are always
welcome to visit any of our meetings.
