The Senior High Youth Ministry exists to assist families in equipping their
teens to maturity in their faith, connect them with other believers, challenge
them to discover their personal ministry gifts, reach their non-believing
friends with the gospel, and consistently honor God with their lives. We
do this through three targeted opportunities for our teens: AmGap (Sunday
mornings), Senior High Shepherd Groups (Wednesday nights) and Student
Impact (Sunday nights). We also use a variety of activities designed to
address fellowship, evangelism, service, training, and missions. We also
provide time for our youth ministry families to gather together. It is our
prayer to provide for the spiritual needs of the teens of Reston Bible at all
spiritual levels and ultimately prepare them to stand strong when they leave
high school and make a difference for Christ where He leads them.

Last year we saw God work in a number of ways. In AmGap and Shepherd
groups, we taught students how to study the Bible for themselves and saw
many strengthen their spiritual foundations when we studied the gospel
and basic apologetics. We saw God work through many of our outreach
events including First Fruits, Gap Outreaches, Florida Bike trip, retreats,
missions trip to Brazil, and more.

For the upcoming year, we are asking God to take our Shepherd Groups to
the next level and to help our teens catch the vision and gain the boldness
to reach out to their peers with the gospel. We would also like to see our
parents step up in supporting their teens’ involvement in the youth ministry
and in becoming involved themselves through being volunteer staff or a
part of the Youth Ministry Support Team. Ultimately we are asking that our
teens will taste and see that the Lord is good and that He can change them
and their world in powerful ways.
