Elder

Dave was born and raised in St. Louis, Missouri where he graduated from high school in 1961. From there he attended the United States Coast Guard Academy, graduating in 1965 with a B.S. in engineering. His favorite extracurricular activities included the sailing team, precision drill team, pistol team, IM tennis and IM handball. After two tours of sea duty Dave was assigned to postgraduate training at MIT graduating in 1970 with an MS in Mechanical Engineering and MS in Naval Architecture. Subsequent assignments with the Coast Guard were in the field of marine safety.

Dave and Donna were married in 1965 and are the parents of two boys, Patrick and Michael. Pat, his wife and three kids serve as missionaries in SE Asia. Mike is a medic with Fairfax County and lives in Winchester with his wife and four children. All the grandkids are being home-schooled.

Dave came to Christ in 1974 through the ministry of Faith Bible Church in Sterling. Donna had previously come to Christ through the Navigators while they were stationed in New Orleans. Subsequently Dave attended and graduated from Capital Bible Seminary with a ThM. After retirement from the Coast Guard, Dave and Donna served together at FBC from 1980 until 1997. Dave started and ran Faith Christian School and Donna was the office administrator and development director until they both left to work with Campus Crusade for Christ at the Christian Embassy.

Together they have served in a number of church related ministries including VBS, AWANA, Sunday School and various leadership roles. They have taken numerous missionary trips to places such as Russia, Ukraine, Turkey, Ethiopia, and Mexico and are currently working with the international diplomatic community here in Washington, D.C. through Bible studies, discipleship, and various outreaches during the year. In Russia they have been working with the education community in helping them with curriculum materials, but mainly the goal is to see these individuals come to Christ and be built up in the faith. Dave and Donna have been attending RBC since 1998 and have hosted a shepherd group in their home since 2000.
